DEVELOPING AN EFFECTIVE
LOSS CONTROL PROGRAM

GENERAL

Business people want to reduce operating costs. Accidents, whether resulting in personal injury or property damage, are expensive and contribute directly to operating costs. Therefore, it is important to control these unnecessary expenses by the most cost-effective method. One proven method of reducing property damage and personal injury losses is to implement an ongoing safety program. Numerous respected multinational corporations have successfully implemented effective safety programs. Their programs have reduced operating costs, increased efficiency and productivity, and impacted positively on employee morale and public relations.

However, controlling or reducing accident losses is not easy. It takes a strong desire and resolve by management to commit necessary resources and time to develop effective safety program activities which address the needs of a facility. But the benefits derived from incorporating an effective loss control program justify the expended time, resources and efforts. One multinational corporation has saved in excess of $26 million in compensation and other costs since implementing a corporate safety program.

  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • Employee Indoctrination
